MAQET is pleased to sponsor the first delegation of Japanese Schoolgirls from Dankeschoen Academy in Tokyo. The girls came to America with a message of peace and love, and they brought cheer to everyone they met. We've had lots of fun hanging out in San Francisco with them, but now it's time for these exchange students to go to their new homes.

This listing is for a single MAQET, Schoen, the most popular of the schoolgirls. Schoen likes cats, art, toys, boys (especially Danke) and hanging out with friends. She hopes to travel to places where there are amusement parks and sunny beaches, but really she just can't wait to make new friends all over the world. A collection of all three schoolgirls at a discounted price (because they really like to travel together) is available as a separate listing.

*As a special bonus for our Japanese Schoolgirls Collectors Series, each figure will come with her own ID card showing her photo and unique first name.

Artist Bio: Shin + Nao

Shin Tanaka and Nao Shimojo are Tokyo-based partners in life and design. Shin's paper toys are inspired by hip-hop and street culture, like an accessible update on traditional origami. To date, over 500 artists and brands have joined his paper toy project, and fans print, cut and assemble his designs. His work is included in Nike's design library, sought after by Disney and UNIQLO and has been exhibited in cities around the world.

Nao produces collectible vinyl toys and lifestyle items under her brand, Dankeschoen. The popular mascots, Danke and Schoen, have been customized by world-famous artists, featured in Misukoshi Department store and appeared in Asia's largest toy shows. Together, Shin and Nao collaborate in a positive style that can be called "urban kawaii".
