Artist Bio: Frank Kozik

Frank Kozik was born in Madrid, Spain in 1962. At the age of 14, he moved to the United States and settled in Austin Texas. Credited with single handedly reviving the "lost" art of the concert poster, Kozik's creative career grew largely out of his enthusiasm for Austin's underground rock scene in the mid-80s. By 1994, with hundreds of limited edition, silk-screened posters under his belt, he decided to open his own record label, Man's Ruin. Kozik released records by artists he liked, and he also designed all of the sleeve art.

While travelling back and forth to Japan in the 90s, Kozik became involved in the early designer toy movement. He is now known as one of the most prolific toy designers in the world, releasing hundreds of vinyl toys through companies like Kidrobot and self-producing populist sculptures under his own Ultraviolence imprint. Kozik is a man of diverse pursuits. In addition to art, music and toys, has done work for Nike, Slim Jim and MTV.
